The studio is going strong and for the most part thanks to all of our members working together. We are at full capacity as far as members and open studio signups. All shelves and cabinets are full. Kiln has new elements and is being fired weekly. Jason C is making some new glazes for our cone 6 firings and amazingly enough we had a version of Eliens Blue Grey glaze cone 4 that works pretty damn well. I couldn't be happier. I never thought that this studio would thrive so much. I love seeing everyone's work, so many different styles a lot of creativity. If you haven't had a chance yet to visit the studio and see what we are doing, I plan on doing some first Wednesdays here in the future that I will promote on Facebook.
So, as you may have noticed the name of the site and the studio has changed. Ink and Earth has become our new studio name. At one of our studio's potlucks events, we had a discussion about ideas about the studios name. One of the ideas that I had personally wanted to convey in the name was the idea of it being a studio where people knew that we did ceramics and also pottery in the other studio. This name of course would have to umbrella the studios as a whole. Being asked by Derek he agreed along with the whole group. So, with Dereks knowhow he asked the ever-present Chat gpt. With a long list of names that was presented to us, many of which gave us a chuckle, we settled on a few. One of them being earth and ink. Switching around the words we all agreed that Ink and Earth would be the best fit. Not only do I like the fact that we came to this name studio as a group of potters/artists, but we came together as a small community. Love this little studio!
Some things we are planning on for the future. Of course, those glazes I mentioned earlier that Jason is working on. We are also looking on doing some raku here in the future. One of my kilns I'd like to Frankenstein into a raku kiln. We are also potentially looking at doing a woodfire at Studio sales come September October. I will be moving the ceramic display room into the tattoo studio to make more room for the studio for classes and shelf space. The tattoo artists and I are talking about having a Halloween tattoo flash event. Hopefully we can combine that with out Clay Coven event. More details about that will come in the future. We still have open studios on Tuesdays and Saturdays; we are still interested in having classes at our studio. All in all, we are doing what we love and enjoying most of the process of it (Some people don't like to trim or finish their work) some we keep doing what we love.

This has been a quick blog done by me
