This vase shows a pheonix with a skull for a face and an octopus that encircels the bottom of the vase. A lot of my vases have symbolism behind them and this one is know different. The pheonix is a classic life to death, to rebirth. Every ending has a new beginning. This form of growth is a constant in life.  The octopus represents adaptability, the ability to work with every situation and working with what you have. 

On top of the carving the vase have a decrotive pircing background that gives the vessel a lighter look and airy type of appeal. 

This Paticular vase won 3rd prize in the ceramics catagory at the Buffalo Allentown festival 2024.
